|||Durban - Two women have been arrested after they were found in possession of large quantities of drugs in Phoenix near Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Sunday.
The women were taken into custody on Friday, said Colonel Jay Naicker.
One, aged 23, was caught with cocaine with an estimated value of R36 000. A 52-year-old was found in possession of cocaine worth an estimated R12 000.
The women were expected to appear in the Phoenix Magistrate's Court soon, said Naicker.
Provincial police commissioner Lt-Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni urged communities to work together with the local police to bring lasting solutions to the drug problem. - Sapa
