Three suspects have been arrested after allegedly being found with slain farmer Timothy Green’s cellphones and a shotgun.
|||Durban - Three suspects have been arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Newcastle farmer Timothy Green. The men allegedly had Green’s cellphones and a shotgun.
Green, 44, a cattle farmer, had been shot dead at his Mellon Green Farm near Chelmsford Dam after he disturbed a burglary at his home on Sunday.
He had tried to hide from gunfire beneath his bakkie.
Provincial police spokesman, Colonel Vincent Mdunge, said:
“A team of Newcastle detectives have worked tirelessly until 1am today, when they came back with all three suspects.
“One was arrested near the mine where he was hiding, another was arrested next to Ekuseni area, the last one was found in the vicinity of Green’s farm,” he said.
