Community safety MEC Willies Mchunu welcomed the 25-year jail sentence handed to the man who murdered Kloof resident Rodney Bradley.
|||Durban - KwaZulu-Natal community safety MEC Willies Mchunu on Wednesday welcomed the 25-year jail sentence the Durban High Court handed to the man who murdered Kloof resident Rodney Bradley.
“We commend the excellent work done by the police for swiftly bringing Majozi to book,” Mchunu said in a statement.
Siyanda Majozi, 23, was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty.
Bradley, 55, was killed in April while trying to prevent attackers from entering his home in Greater Kloof, west of Durban. He was shot twice through the front door.
His fiancée, Terri Carlson, reportedly saw the attackers through a window and heard the shots. She then locked herself in the bathroom and called for help. The attackers tried, but failed, to get into the bathroom and fled.
“The sentence sends a clear message to the criminals that the long arm of the law will always catch up with them, wherever they are,” Mchunu said. - Sapa
