One person died and 14 others were injured when a taxi overturned in Durban, paramedics said.
|||Durban - One person died and 14 others were injured on Tuesday when a minibus taxi overturned on Ndwedwe Main Road in Verulam, north of Durban, paramedics said.
Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said that when paramedics arrived on the scene they found passengers and accident debris scattered over the road.
The accident happened about 7am on Tuesday.
“After triaging the injured it was found that three people had sustained critical injuries while twelve others were in a serious condition,” said Botha.
“One of the critically injured went into cardiac arrest and paramedics tried for nearly an hour to resuscitate the man. Tragically he died on scene due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.”
The other injured were stabilised on scene and then transported to various hospitals in the area.
Police would investigate the cause of the accident. - Sapa
